The Vintage Aquatimer That Inspired The Vintage Aq

A couple of years back coach outlet online, IWC released a tribute to the original Aquatimer as part of their Vintage Collection. Collectors and lovers of the original quickly snapped them up and trying to find one for sale now is almost as hard as finding the original. Ironically, the new version had a lower water resistance rating (12 bar) than the 1967 version (20 bar). But the upside was that it came with a display caseback to view the gorgeous movement.

One could argue that IWC Schaffhausen has a dive watch history with more innovations and desirable models than any other watch company. Yes coach outlet online, including Rolex.

How about the GST Aquatimer with its Bauhaus simplicity and push-to-turn bezel? Or the pair of mechanical depth gauge Aquatimers, the Deep One and Deep Two coach outlet, both as rare as unicorns and as beautiful. What's even more impressive is that IWC got a late start in dive watches coach factory outlet, putting out its first Aquatimer in 1967 and then lying nearly dormant until the '80s.

Well cheap coach bags, today we've found the rare patriarch from IWC's diver family tree. This is the first Aquatimer from the late '60s, the model 1812 coach factory store, with its twin-crown internal timing bezel design and intricately linked steel bracelet. The movement in this one was special too: IWC's in-house calibre 8542 with the vaunted Pellaton winding system, the same movement used in the Ingenieur models of the same era. This one is as pristine as it was 40+ years ago when it left Schaffhausen. You rarely see these come up for sale and almost never see them in this good of condition.
